This is a Childrens Interactive Storybook App. It is about understanding blindness and about learning to be thoughtful with all friends, even those with special needs such as blindness.

In the story, Adam is Blakes best friend. Adam gets to play with Blake when his mom visits Blakes mom. They have many adventures like going to the park and riding on the Play Fire Truck for kids. Blakes mom explains to Adam that Blake is blind. But that is pretty hard to understand.

Adam imagines different situations in which he shuts his eyes and discovers what it is like to be blind. He finds that, like Blake, he has to use touch, sound, smell and taste to learn about things. He and Blake have fun figuring out what clues let him know about things he cant see with his eyes closed. It might even be a dinosaur!

Adam decides that if he is a best friend to Blake, he can help him understand everything going on around them. He also learns how to come up to Blake and let him know who he is and what he might be bringing Blake. They can enjoy something new like a visit to a dinosaur park.

As Adam talks this over with his mom, she complements him on being "thoughtful" which is a very good thing to learn as you grow up. Adam tells Blakes mom all about how he intends to have great times with Blake even as he is being thoughtful. The story ends as it is revealed that Adam and Blake are real kids that are best friends living in Texas.

The author/illustrator, Judy K. Johnson, wishes to thank Catch Thompson, her grandson, for narrating this story. She also thanks Blake, also her grandson, and his real best friend Adam for sharing the story. Go to the authors website for more stories and apps about children with special needs and their friends.
